[DGNA Exclusive Interview & Photo Shoot Part 3] Still The Same Artists Who Sing J-POP Concept
Q: Regarding the upcoming October concert, it’ll be produced by the members am I right? But I know that DGNA members have been producing your own concerts all these years so what’s the difference this time?
Injun: Hyunmin himself will produce his own fanmeeting. The 5 of us will be on the stage together but there’ll be 5 different characters. So in total, there’ll be 5 different events produced by different members.
Q: Woah~ Complicated! So you’ll be preparing for 5 different events?
Everyone: That’s right.
Karam: Of course!! I can feel that it’ll be a great fanmeeting.
Injun: We’ll be meeting the fans in 5 different situations so we’re doing a lot of brainstorming now.
Karam: When we return to Korea tomorrow, we have to practice the dance choreography for our new song too so we’re kinda short of time.
Q: Being kept busy on your toes is a good thing!
Karam: Yes of course!! We’re happy (to be busy)!
Q: A message to your fans and also a message to those who don’t know who DGNA is!
Injun: I’ll be in charge of delivering the message to our fans then. First of all, thank you for waiting for us. We’ll be visiting Japan more often from now on and will work hard starting from zero upwards so please come to our live event and fanmeeting! Let’s have lots of fun!
Karam: To those who don’t know who DGNA is. DGNA is a Korean idol group but we’re working hard as artists who sing J-POP when we’re in Japan. So instead of seeing us as merely a K-POP group, we’ll be grateful if you can see us in the same limelight as the other Japanese artists.
Q: I can see that you’ve not given up on the artists who sing J-POP concept?
Karam: No, it’s still the same concept. Please take care of us from now on.
Hyunmin: Can I say something? If you wanna know us, come to our concert! I’m sure you’ll be a fan once you’ve seen our concert.
Karam: If you’re not a fan after you’ve seen our concert, we’ll return 100 yen to you. So please come.
Jay: Only 100 yen? (laughs)
Everyone: (laughs)
Karam: Anyhow just come!

[DGNA Exclusive Interview & Photo Shoot Part 2] Talking About The Sayings Which Have Great Impact On Their Lives And Way Of Thinking
Q: Please tell us what you’re confident in and your own weaknesses.
Hyunmin: I’m confident in everything.
Everyone: Oh~
Hyunmin: My weakness is “My face is big”.
Everyone: Ahahaha!
Hyunmin: I’m just kidding. Do I have a weakness?
Karam: Nope. You’re perfect.
Injun: Talking (laughs)
Karam: Your Korean is bad (laughs)
Jay: For a Korean….
Hyunmin: That’s right (laughs)
Q: Ah! You agreed with it (laughs)
Jay: My strength is my energy! I’m powerful. My weakness is summer. I sweat a lot (in summer).
Karam: I’m confident in my stamina for playing a lot of sports. My weakness is that I can’t drink alcohol.
Everyone: Ah~
Q: You can’t drink alcohol at all?
Injun; He can’t drink any at all. He feels as if he’s dying if he drinks.
Karam: My body can’t take in the alcohol.
Jay: He even fainted once before after drinking.
Karam: That’s why I don’t drink at all. It unfortunate that I don’t know how beer tastes like.
Injun: I’m confident in talking. I won’t lose to anyone in this. My weakness is…talking (laughs)
Hyunmin: It’s good that he’s such a great talker but when he talks too much, his strength becomes his weakness.
Mika: My strength is…
Everyone: Eye gaze! Stares! You’re good at staring, really!
Mika: So that’s my strength (laughs). My weakness is my stamina. I have a low stamina so I get tired easily.
Q: The next question. Has anyone told you anything that changed your lives and ways of thinking?
Everyone: Wah~ Good question. Yes. Yes, there is.
Jay: Was it in my teens? that I saw a saying in a book. Not a book I was looking for but just a book someone has opened up and left it behind. I took a glance and saw the phrase “You don’t need to work for the rest of your life till the day you die if you’re doing something that you like/wanna do”. It resonated loudly in me and took the young me back then by surprise.
Injun: For me, it’s “If you think you’re late, it’s too late”.
Everyone: Ahahaha!
Injun: Normally you’ll think that although you’re late, there’s still time to fix things up! but in reality, it’s truly “If you think you’re late, it’s too late”.
Q: When you think it’s late, it’s really too late is it?
Injun: That’s right. So it’s best to either do your best or give up before it’s too late.
Hyunmin: For me, it’s “If you don’t wish with all your might, miracles can’t happen”. I love miracles. A realist won’t believe in miracles but I do.
Karam: “Don’t fight, score it”. Don’t compare yourself with others or imitate other people but follow your own path! from now on.
Mika: “If you’re conscious of others, you’ll destroy yourself”. You’ll find that you will lose your own identity if you’re conscious of others, whether it’s at work or during everyday life. I’m not sure if this is right (way of thinking/living) but it’s mine.

[DGNA Exclusive Interview & Photo Shoot Part 1] Finally Resuming Activities In Japan For Real! “Will Be In Better Shape In October”
After signing up with a company in Japan, DGNA is finally resuming their activities in Japan for real. And the first agendas on their list were the fanmeeting and live event held on September 12 and 13. In order to meet their Japanese fans after such a long absence, the members have been working out and preparing themselves for these events.
This interview and photo shoot took place on the day after their live event.
Q: Please tell us your thoughts about the live event and how you’ve prepared for it.
Injun: I’ll start with the thoughts first. I was happy to come to Japan after such a long time and be able to hold the fanmeeting and live event. I think we were able to fulfill the wishes our fans, who have been waiting for us, with our live event. We’ll be having more activities in Japan so I’m looking forward to them. As for our preparations, Karam?
Karam: Yes. First of all, we listed down and ranked all the songs which are popular among the fans, songs which are greatly received by the fans as well as songs which we picked ourselves and from this ranking list, we chose the songs to perform at the live event. Being professionals as we are and in order to show our lovely smiles to the audience, we also worked out and started dieting 3 weeks before that.
Injun: We had muscle training!
Karam: We’ve worked hard to show the fans our perfect bodies!
Hyunmin: We’ll be in better shape in October!
Karam: Of course!
Q: DGNA seemed to have faced a lot of difficulties in resuming your activities in Japan in the past but it’s good to know that everything will be going well from now on.
Injun: It feels like “Finally!” and “Starting from now on!” this time.
Karam: We’ve signed with a new Japanese company! We’re happy to meet such a nice company and we’re also excited being able to meet our fans. I’m looking forward to create lots of memories together.
Q: Please share with us if you have any exciting experiences this summer.
Hyunmin: I went back to my hometown.
Jay: How many years since?
Hyunmin: 6 months. My hometown’s in the remote areas of Pohang and the sea is just right in front of my house. The Seoul-Pohang KTX line opened this year so I was able to go back home directly without changing trains! The train station was newly built too! I went on a boat ride and had lots of fun time with my family!
Jay: I went to Okinawa for a holiday before the end of summer with the casts and crews of the movie. The weather was so good and the sea was so beautiful! It was hot so we just went to the supermarket for grocery shopping half-naked from the waist up.
Karam: I got addicted to leisure sports this summer and went to the river for wake-boarding and swimming.
Q: Which river was it?
Karam: Cheongpyeong, Yangpyeong and Gapyeong. The rivers are clean and everyone can indulge in leisure sports there.
Q: You’ll be attending the FCMEN soccer/football tournament on September 21 am I right?
Karam: Yes. I’ve been practicing playing soccer/football too. I’m the right winger. I’m a sportsman.
Injun: I played and went on walks with my dog. I also went to Busan for holidays. There’re lots of delicious food in Busan. I drove there myself in my car and the journey took about 5 hours.
Jay: So far~
Injun: But it was fun.
Mika: I didn’t visit any places in particular…just spending time eating and playing games at home with the air-conditioner switched on. And going out and about Seoul with my friends. Totally not summer-ish kind of activities.
Injun: Mika is the happiest when he’s at home (laughs)

DGNA Fanmeeting & Live Event A Huge Sucess!
Talking about the members thoughts on the live event & upcoming October concert
DGNA had their fanmeeting & live concert on September 12, 13 at Yokohama BAY HALL. The members seemed to enjoy the events held in Japan after a long absence. We approached the 5 happy members for an interview after spending wonderful time with their fans! We asked them about their thoughts on the live event and their upcoming October concert.
Q: How do you feel having a fanmeeting and live event in Japan after such a long absence?
Karam: I’m happy and grateful to come to Japan and be able to meet the Japanese fans after such a long time.
Hyunmin: I was worried because of our long absence but after knowing that fans have been waiting for us, I’m really happy and very grateful. I’m able to feel the importance of the fans existence once again.
Injun: The live event and fanmeeting this time were the most awesome so far. I think they were definitely worth waiting for.
Q: What was so awesome this time around?
Injun: We had lots of laugh, the members were in excellent conditions and everything was well-balanced.
Mika: Especially Hyunmin was so funny this time.
Hyunmin: Maybe I was too happy (laughs)? I’m not sure but I think my Japanese, my wittiness and my sense of timing have improved.
Mika: We were kinda hyped up after seeing him having fun (laughs). I’m usually calm and collected but I felt that I was more aggressive after being influenced by Hyunmin.
Q: Why do think that your speaking skills have improved?
Hyunmin: I think it’s because of the change in my personality recently. I used to be such a perfectionist, a serious person…
Mika: A little stiff right? Due to your perfectionist character.
Hyunmin: That’s right. I used to have a quick-temper and if anyone messed up during the live event even just once, I’ll be like “Unforgivable!” but I became milder now (laughs).
Mika: Instead of becoming milder, your heart is more forgiving now. We’ve known each other for 8 years and I think the you now is the best.
Hyunmin: In the past, I used to think that “I need to make silly comments!” but now, I think that “I’ll just show everyone the real me” so maybe my sense of humor just came out naturally.
Injun: When we were changing our costumes or when we were at the backstage, all of us agreed that “It feels great today!”.
Jay: No matter what, I think it was the fans enthusiasm that made us enjoyed the whole process. Injun wasn’t feeling well but he did a great job and the live event was a huge success!
Q: You had a hug session with the fans. Did they say anything to you?
Karam: Everyone said “Welcome back” to us and in return, we replied “I’m back/I’m home”. During that time, I could feel the love shared between humans and I was really happy.
Q: Were there any emotional fans who cried?
Injun: Yes, there were. When we told them “Don’t cry”, they replied “These are tears of joy” and that’s when the thought of “Ah~ We need to work harder” ran across my mind.
Q: You’ll be returning here again in October for your concert right? And there’ll be events produced by the members yourselves. What kind of events are they?
Karam: I’m sure the other members are preparing various games and corners for the events and for a sneak peek…for example, showing pictures of the members’ hands and feet and asking the audience “Who is this?” kinda game corner.
Q: And was that the game corner which Karam came up with?
Karam: Yes. And this is my first time revealing it (laughs). I’m not sure if it’ll take place though…
Q: What about the other members?
Injun: For me, it’s important that both the fans and the members can do the activities together, so, I’m thinking of games which we’ve not played before. Choosing someone randomly and play a game together with that person…a fun, cheerful Injun-like game. And if each member plays/sings a different song, wouldn’t that be great?
Jay: For me, it’s not only about me having fun but also incorporating the fans into the games. I like to talk to people so maybe instead of playing exciting games, I would prefer to talk to the fans. Not as an artist talking to his fans but more like a friend talking to a friend kinda…Since it’s a fanmeeting, I want to be able to look into everyone’s eyes while we talk or a corner listening to the fans problems/troubles would be nice too.
Mika: For me, I think a counseling corner will be great. We didn’t have a lot of opportunities talking to fans so listening and answering fans questions would be nice…
Hyunmin: A counseling corner sounds great!
Mika: But I think it’ll be pretty boring as well so maybe we’ll play some games and sing some songs. I wanna sing the songs which we’ve not performed before. We’ve always been performing as a 5 members group so maybe we should prepare songs such as songs which only Hyunmin can sing?. I want it to be the time for each of the member to show their own talents to the audience.
Hyunmin: (again) Counseling corner sounds great…Just like in Japan, singles living alone by themselves have been on the rise in Korea too. And because there’re a lot of interesting TV programs which cater to this particular community, it’ll be good to talk about it and communicate with the fans! Plus, what I’m thinking about, for example, covering a song or doing an acoustic version of a song…
Mika: That sound good!
Hyunmin: Right? I just thought about it! And maybe a gag corner (laughs) or maybe a talk show. Since it’s a fanmeeting, there’ll be less singing…no change that to no singing at all and just talking the whole time (laughs)? We can also just wear whatever we brought here, no costumes required.
Mika: Such rough plans sound good too (laughs)
Hyunmin: No makeup! I wonder how about we go all-natural?
Q: You guys have a lot of ideas (laughs).
Hyunmin: Yes (laughs). Because we would like to think that the time spent with fans are special/precious time. However, nothing has been confirmed so far so we don’t know what will happen (laughs) But please look forward to it!
